CURIOSITY, WITH OUR FEET ON THE GROUND
Dreams, meaning,
and what we know.
A dream can feel meaningful without having one scientifically established interpretation. We make room for that distinction.
What does research tell us about dreaming?
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke notes that the exact purpose of dreaming is not known. Dreams may help with processing emotions, and experiences from the day can find their way into them. This is a starting point for understanding dreaming, not proof that any particular symbol has a fixed meaning.

Does the APA validate dream dictionaries?
The American Psychological Association’s dictionary describes dream analysis as a technique used in some psychotherapies. A definition of a technique does not establish the accuracy of a symbol dictionary or endorse an AI interpretation service. Reverie is not affiliated with or endorsed by the APA.

What about NHS guidance?
NHS guidance distinguishes nightmares from night terrors and discusses possible causes and treatment. It recommends seeing a GP when regular nightmares affect sleep and everyday life. That guidance is about sleep and wellbeing, rather than decoding symbols. Reverie is not an NHS service.

Where does Reverie fit?
We offer prompts for personal reflection. Our symbol guides use possible associations and metaphors, clearly presented as possibilities. AI readings, when enabled, also offer tentative ideas. They cannot determine what a dream truly means, diagnose a condition, predict events, or establish another person’s intentions.
“Does this connect with my experience?” is a more useful question here than “Is this the one correct answer?”
Your own context matters
Begin with what you remember, how you felt, and what you associate with the people and places. You can appreciate the experience without assigning it a hidden message. If an interpretation feels wrong or unhelpful, you can leave it behind.
